Bill Sands has trained virtually all of Canada’s “mathletes” in the
decade he chaired the Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS). For his
commitment to nurture young minds, he’s been awarded the Canadian
Mathematical Society's 2008 Graham Wright Award for Distinguished
Service.

Talisman Energy Inc. Undergraduate Scholarships in Energy and Related Studies in Science is now underway. There are 7 awards available valued at $10,000 each. Students can pick up the application form for these awards at the Dean's Office (BI 570)or by emailing science@ucalgary.ca.

Human Resources is pleased to advise that the Summer Temporary Employment Program (STEP), sponsored by Alberta Human Resources and Employment will be available again this year. This program provides Faculties and Departments with an opportunity to offer quality career experience positions to unemployed Albertans by providing partial funding for wages.
