What is/are Statistics?

Many people question statistics students about “what they do” in statistics. Although, most people have a general understanding that statistics is a subject based on mathematics which may include topics on probability, few comprehend the methods, meaning and applications that the field of statistics offers to both well studied experts and nervous novices’. 

This presentation is directed to the general audience, who may not have any understanding of the statistical field. The goal is to gain a working knowledge of the power of statistics through simple definitions and familiar examples.
