Posets with the maximum element property

MS 427A finite poset F is said to have the "maximum element
property" if for every finite poset P, every maximal F-free subset of P
must contain a maximal element of P. Recently, Jia Shen and I have found
all finite posets F with the maximum element property. I will state our
result, outline the proof, and give some related results.
