As mathematics continues to progress, it makes further steps away from the general conversation. This situation creates anxiety and reclusiveness for mathematicians and denies the public our brilliance.
In this talk, I will give some examples of discussions which are approachable with the general public's degree of knowledge. These examples will be unlike high school material and can generally considered to be thought provoking, counter intuitive, and good cocktail party conversation.
