Speaker:
speakers who use math and computing skills in quantitative finance jobs
Location:
MS 371

Sponsored by PIMS and PRMIA (the Professional Risk Managers International Association), this event will highlight speakers who are using their mathematical and computing skills in quantitative finance jobs downtown (some of whom are graduates of our department), and they will be talking about what it is they do. The aim is to give students information about how they can use their mathematics in this particular industrial setting. We'll also take the opportunity to promote the course offerings we provide here - the undergraduate financial math. concentration, ACSC and stats. courses, and our graduate programmes - that can help students prepare themselves if this is a direction they are interested in taking.

There is some more information about the event at http://finance.math.ucalgary.ca/CareersEvent.html.
