Graduate Courses

Advanced Credit

MUST BE applied for at time of application; graduate level course with B grade or higher within the past 5 years from a recognized institution; not part of another degree; not to exceed 1/3 of graduate program.

Credit for Undergraduate Courses

Only where appropriate to a student's program may credit be given for courses numbered 500-589

At least one half of a graduate student's coursework MUST be at 600-level or higher. For double-listed courses with both a 500 and a 600 level designation, graduate students should register in the 600 level course. 

Seminar Course

All MSc students are required to register in one of the seminar courses Mathematics 600 or Statistics 600 in the first year of their program.

All PhD students are required to register in one of the seminar courses Mathematics 600 or Statistics 600 in the first or second year of their program.

The Seminar courses are not counted in the calculation of the number of required half courses in each program.
