The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is actively involved in the community via various outreach projects
Many of the department's faculty members volunteer their time and energy to programs aimed at nurturing the "developing mathematician" in our local communities.
Some of these programs include:
Calgary is a modern city with a population over 1 million. It is the
oil centre of Canada and is a major financial centre. Calgary was the
site of the 1988 Winter Olympic Games. Also, excellent skiing, hiking,
and top class physical recreation facilities are close at hand.
High-School students who do not have the required 70% in Math 30 or Pure Math 30, as prerequisite for first year linear algebra and calculus courses, may be eligible to meet this prerequisite requirement by obtaining a satisfactory grade on the Mathematics Diagnostic Test.
