Research Group in Biostatistics (RGB)
The Research Group in Biostatistics offers undergraduate students a number of research opportunities designed to expose hardworking talented students to biostatistical applications in a wide range of areas. Funding for these is provided by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) of Canada and the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research (AHFMR).
NSERC Undergraduate Research Awards are available to eligible senior undergraduate students for the spring/summer session. The duration of the award is 16 consecutive weeks working full-time throughout May-August period. Applications are at www.nserc.ca and can be either completed online, or can be printed out.
AHFMR Summer Studentships provide opportunities to deserving students to participate in medical or health research in Alberta during the summer months. The awards are intended to encourage students to consider pursuing formal training and a career in health research. Details can be found at www.ahfmr.ab.ca.
